Yahoo! – Fifa World Cup 2002 Promotional Microsite

Online mega-portal Yahoo! grew from a student “guide to the web” hobby site to the global internet communications company that they are today.

As a major sponsor of the 2002 Fifa World Cup Yahoo! were keen to maximise their sponsorship opportunities. To this end a multi-lingual worldwide promotion was devised that allowed visitors to Yahoo! to win a multitude of prizes ranging from small promotional World Cup packs, to flights, accommodation and tickets to the World Cup Final in Japan.

The iProduct team designed, built and managed the content management system, promotional sites and their associated games. There were 10 content managed sites in 7 languages running in time zones across South America and Europe. iProduct’s bespoke content management system allowed simple access to the various sites for the content authors to update content, whilst the promotional Flash games were automatically rotated on a day by day basis.
