Training and Development Agency for Schools - Classroom of Today Kiosk
The Training and Development Agency for Schools (formerly The Teacher Training Agency) commissioned an interactive kiosk from Marcomms agency, Euro RSCG KLP for use at teacher recruitment events in England and Wales. Working to KLP’s brief, iProduct delivered all the programming including the animated 3D elements, "bluescreen" video and touchscreen interface. The kiosk demonstrates how technology and teaching methods have advanced and shows examples of typical teaching tools which are currently deployed by teachers. Along with this the kiosk offers a wealth of information relating to teaching various subjects and has an online registration facility so users of the kiosk can register for further information whilst at an event without having to locate a teaching consultant.
The application itself contains a vast amount of video and animation, from the innovative 3D school map menu system through to "blue screen" videos of teachers discussing the current tools of their trade. Behind the scenes a tracking system records use of the kiosk so the results of events and specifically the use of the kiosk can be analysed by KLP with detail such as number of uses (between attractor mode), how long sections were interacted with and typical paths through the system.
Results have been exceptional. At events the kiosk can be seen with crowds two to three people deep watching and waiting to interact with it.
In order to maximise the budget used in developing the audio visual assets the content has been repurposed for redeployment as a teacher recruitment DVD.
